So, a2f Gold is going to bowling after Bible Study this Friday (by the way, Bible Study starts at 7pm @ 145 Dwinelle w/ Dinner!).
Before I get on with this story I'm about to tell you, let me just throw out the event details:
- Event: Post-Bible Study Bowling (1/30)
- Please bring $12 for 2-hr. bowling plus shoes.
- Rides will be arranged by class: Jasper for Seniors/Frosh, Ander for Soph, and Jammy for Juniors.
Anyways, on to the story...
SO, Monday nights are "family nights" at our church, and since I live with 18 of my peers at Grand Central Apts in Alameda, family night for us means "peer-time" (this is also the reason why almost all 18 of us ended up getting sick this past week). Last Monday, we decided to go bowling. Then something incredible happened.
Okay, so I'm no stellar bowler, mainly because I'm wildly inconsistent. For example, that Monday we bowled two and a half games. My scores:
Game 1: 74
Game 2: 187
Game 3: unfinished
Now 74 is relatively close to my lifetime running average of 85 - but whoa, that 187 from Game 2 is most definitely an outlier (as a matter of fact, I've never bowled anywhere near that high before). So... "what happened?" you might be wondering.
Game 2 breakdown: I was bowling pretty dismally as usual, at least from frames 1-4. Then from frame 5 to frame 9, I suddenly developed a supernatural form that resulted in my bowling all strikes, yes that's FIVE strikes in a row! Crazy, huh??? After that, frame 10 was no good, but on the next game, I bowled another two strikes on frames 1 and 2. AHHH! That's 7 strikes out of 8 consecutive frames. I'm so proud of myself.
True story, absolutely - you can ask Kenton or Mike about it since they saw this with their own eyes. I'm not sure what happened, but I had this ridiculous form that I just kept repeating over and over again. Anyone wanna challenge me this Friday?
- If you have any interesting stories about your own bowling adventures, feel free to post them under "comments."
I'll see you this Friday, bring your A-game. Actually, just come.
